Family Caregiver Support Program (North Dakota)

Description:

The North Dakota Family Caregiver Support Program funded under the Older Americans Act provides for a system of support services to help family caregivers of an older adult 60+ and grandparents and other relative caregivers who are 60+ and caring for grandchildren 18 and under, to maintain their caregiving role.

Caregivers who do not have access to a support system may experience burnout that can lead to increased stress and other problems. This program offers assistance to help relieve some of the burden associated with providing care.

There is a Caregiver Coordinator located at each Human Service Center. Please go to the website and click on Family Caregiver Support Program for further information. Reservations receiving NFCSP funds are: Spirit Lake, Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, Trenton Indian Service Area, and Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa. The toll free number is nationwide.
